CA ANZ Invite: Seeking your feedback to proposed revisions to IES 2, 3 and 4
Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) is hosting a webinar on Friday June 21, to seek feedback and comments from members of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) regarding proposed changes to International Education Standards (IES) 2, 3 and 4. The exposure draft is available HERE
Key changes in the proposed revisions include introducing key sustainability reporting concepts and standards; creating a new assurance competence area; and emphasising working with experts and in multi-disciplinary teams.
In this webinar we will do a brief introduction to the changes before seeking your input and thoughts. We will discuss these specific questions as part of the session:
- Do you support the proposed revisions to IES 2, 3, and 4 for sustainability?
- Are the sustainability learning outcomes sufficient and appropriate expectations for aspiring professional accountants?
- Do you support the proposal to create a new competence area for assurance? Is the level of the proposed assurance competence area and learning outcomes at foundation level, appropriate for aspiring professional accountants?
- Are there any terms within the new and revised learning outcomes of IES 2, 3, and 4 which require further clarification?
- Do you believe that the adoption and implementation, including the proposed effective date (1 July 2026), of the proposed revised IES 2, 3, and 4 will present any challenges to your organisation?
